Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, tweeted on Sunday. As per his tweet, the recent substantial reduction in petrol price by the government should lead transporters to decrease fares and freight charges. With petrol and diesel prices dropping by Rs 40 and Rs 15, respectively, the minister called upon provincial and district administrations to ensure that this relief is passed on to the public. Caretaker Minister Solangi highlighted that historically, transport sectors increased charges whenever fuel prices rose, and now it is their responsibility to alleviate the burden on the masses.

Government Slashes Petrol Price

The recent announcement by the government to cut petrol and diesel prices by Rs 40 and Rs 15 has far-reaching implications, particularly for the transport sector. With this substantial reduction, the onus is now on transporters to reciprocate by lowering both fares and freight charges. Murtaza Solangi, the Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting, urged local administrations to actively engage in ensuring that the benefits of reduced fuel prices are passed on to the public.

Relief for Masses

As the government makes a considerable cut in petrol and diesel prices, Caretaker Minister Murtaza Solangi urges transporters to follow suit. Historically, when fuel prices soared, the transport sector raised fares and freight charges. Now, with a significant reduction in fuel costs, the onus is on transporters to provide relief to the masses by lowering fares and charges. Minister Solangi calls upon local administrations to ensure the implementation of reduced costs for the benefit of the public.

The Public believes that not only transporters should lessen their charges, but other consumer products should also implement price cuts. All the products that got expensive due to petrol hikes should now be cheaper for the convenience of common citizens. What are your thoughts on this? Tell us in the comments below!
