Today we present you with the owner’s review of Hamza Bhatti’s Mazda Flair. Famous for his food reviews, today Hamza will review his car and share his ownership experience. This first-generation Flair debuted in 2015 and is based on the Suzuki WagonR. It has a 658cc engine producing around 52 hp and 62 nm of torque, configured with a CVT transmission. This particular car is a 2016 model and was imported in 2018.

Purchase Decision

The owner was actually gifted this car at his wedding; however, he made the purchase decision. Hamza primarily wanted a small economical vehicle that was reliable and easy to maintain. In the debate of local vs. imported, his preference was always towards Japanese cars as he thought they had a better build quality, offered more features, and overall had more pros than local options, so he opted for the Mazda Flair.

Fuel Average

The main aspect of the car is obviously its fuel average. As per the owner, it easily achieves 16 to 17 km/l within the city and even goes up to 18 in winter. According to him, the average varies depending on the driving style and weather conditions. It also has eco idle, improving the average in stop-and-go traffic.

Salient Features

The Flair offers way more frills if we compare it to local hatchbacks. These include eco idle, collision warning, headlight adjustment, traction control, heated seats, digital climate control, front airbags, ABS brakes, and much more.

Space And Comfort

The dimensions of Mazda Flair make the cabin very roomy. The owner, being 6’3, has plenty of headroom and legroom for himself and the rear passengers as well. The front sofa seats are also very comfy, making long journeys very relaxing. “I prefer driving this over a Civic just because of its comfort”, he added.

Maintenance And Spare Parts

The owner gets the oil changed every 5000 kilometers, costing him around 5 to 6,000 rupees, including filters. As per the owner, spare parts are readily available as most of them are interchangeable with the Suzuki WagonR. The owner once got the headlight replaced, which was available locally, and the price was also nominal.
