The 2nd Generation Toyota Prius was introduced in 2003. The 2nd Generation Prius is a front engine front wheel drive hybrid electric mid-size hatchback, developed and manufactured by the Toyota Motor Corporation. The Prius is regarded as the cleanest car in the world based on exhaust emissions and is now being sold in more than 100 countries and regions all over the world. The Toyota Prius 2nd Generation featured a more modern design language and great fuel economy thanks to a more aerodynamic shape compared to the previous 1st Generation Toyota Prius. It also ditched the rear hatchback design of the previous generation for a liftback that resulted in great interior space and boot capacity. Production of the 2nd Generation Toyota Prius lasted for seven years.Toyota halted the production of the second generation in 2009. The Toyota Prius was available in 2 variants S and G. The price of the 2nd Generation Toyota Prius was fairly competitive when compared to other models in the same class available in the local market.

Standard features on the S include 2 airbags, automatic climate control, power windows, power steering, heated and power door mirrors, multifunction steering wheel, keyless entry, traction control and a speaker stereo system. Features on the higher end G variant include cruise control, leather upholstery as standard and push button start. Options include auto-dimming rearview mirror, satellite navigation, 6-speaker stereo speaker system, leather upholstery and heated front seats. The overall interior of the 2nd Generation Toyota Prius is fairly spacious in both the front and rear considering the exterior dimensions of the liftback, it also offers a decent level of comfort and interior refinement.
