BAIC X25 vs. Toyota Rush: Have a look at their comparison!

Pakistan International Auto Show is happening now at the Expo Centre Lahore with full of excitement and surprises for the people. Sazgar Engineering Works Limited has played a key role in lightening up the auto event by introducing three different segments of BAIC vehicles including an off-road BJ40 Plus, a compact crossover X25 and a hatchback D20. Among these, BAIC X25 has so far received a lot of praise for the visitors. It will also compete with the two existing vehicles in the auto sector including Honda BR-V and Toyota Rush. In this article, we will have a brief look at the features and specifications of BAIC X25 and Toyota Rush. Let’s find out what these vehicles have to offer to their customers.

Power train:

In terms of engine power, BAIC X25 has a 1.5-litre A151 engine under the hood that produces a maximum output power of 85 hp and a maximum torque of 148 Nm. The compact crossover is offered with a Euro V emission standard and comes in two types of transmissions i.e. 5-speed manual transmission and 4-speed automatic transmission.

On the other hand, Toyota Rush is powered by a 1.5-litre in-line 4-cylinder 2NR-VE petrol engine with an SFI fuel system. Toyota offers the vehicle under the Euro II emission standard and its powerful engine delivers an output power of 77 kW at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 136 Nm at 4200 rpm. It’s available in both 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission.

Dimensions:

BAIC X25 extends to 4110 mm body length and has a width and height of 1750 mm and 1545 mm respectively. The upcoming crossover has a wheelbase of 2519 mm and a fuel capacity of 45 litres. On the other side, Toyota Rush extends larger than X25 as its body length is 4435 mm. At the same time, it has less width as compared to its counterpart i.e. 1695 mm. The vehicle is 1705 mm high from the ground and has a wheelbase of 2685 mm which is also larger than X25. The minimum ground clearance of Rush is 220 mm and has a fuel capacity of 45 litre in its tank.

Braking system:

The upcoming crossover of Sazgar – BAIC has front and rear disc brakes that enable good control over the car. In comparison to this, Toyota Rush has ventilated disc brakes at the front but carries drum brakes at the rear wheels.

Exterior:

When it comes to the exterior of BAIC X25, the crossover has been designed under the bold and muscular shape. The headlights of X25 are powered by a height adjustment and time-delay off feature. The automaker has provided the daytime running lights (DRL’s) along with front and rear fog lamps. The rear side of the vehicle also has high-mounted brake light. The outside rear-view mirrors are also electrically retractable and X25 has an intelligent rear wiper as well. The standard tyre size is 205/50 R16 which comes with alloy wheels.

Toyota Rush also looks brilliant in its looks as it has LED headlamps with silver ornament and fog lamps with chrome bezel. The front radiator grille is chromed while the rear side has LED combination lamps and an LED high-mount stop lamp installed. The outside door handles are body-colored and outside rear-view mirrors are electrically controlled. The rear window also has a wiper and the standard tyre size of the crossover is 215/65 R16.

Interior:

At first glance, the interior of BAIC X25 looks extremely attractive with an all-black tone. The crossover has power windows at the front and the rear side, central locking system and round-shaped air-conditioning vents with BAIC log incorporated in it. It also has a 7-inch infotainment screen with a smartphone, Radio and Bluetooth connectivity feature. It also has a USB port for charging and a multi-functional steering wheel. X25 is equipped with fabric seats and the driver’s seat has manual adjustment feature too.

On the other hand, Toyota Rush also has a stunning black-tone interior. The compact crossover has different features including power door locks, power windows, steering wheel with multi-controls, dual-zone auto AC, fabric seats with headrests and chromed inside door handles. For entertainment, Toyota Rush also has a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen with Bluetooth,  Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity.

Control, Security and Safety features:

BAIC X25 is equipped with safety features such as:

  • ABS + EBD
  • 3-point seat belts (Front and rear row)
  • Engine immobilizer
  • Anti-theft alarm system
  • Child safety lock
  • ISO FIX hooks
  • Cruise Control
  • Central locking system
  • Rear parking radar

Toyota Rush is also offered under different safety features including:

  • ABS + VSC
  • Airbags
  • Emergency Signal System
  • Hill-start assist control
  • Anti-theft system
  • Brake warning
  • 3-point seat belts (front and rear row)
  • Child restraint system

Price:

BAIC X25 is not yet launched officially in Pakistan and Sazgar has only unveiled it at the mega auto show. Therefore, the price of the compact crossover is not yet confirmed. On the other side, Toyota Rush costs PKR 5,040,000 for the manual version whereas it comes at PKR 5,220,000 for the automatic variant.
