companies also recommend 20,000 kms oil changes and also recommend no oil changes for life on some automatic gearboxes, I dont think you will follow those. They also recommend to change brake fluid which no-one in Pakistan does.
I dont know about your eyes but the correct way to test a cat is to analyse the exhaust gas content and also test the pipe pressure before and after the cat. The orifices in the cat are tiny and get immensely hot while working, it gets hot enough to ignite any carbon soot (that is a lot of temperature)
This is actually a Pakistani problem only, Honda dealership head mechanics are throwing out the cat converters just because their ustaads never taught them better. btw - I would suggest you go around and gather these converters, theres 100s of dollars worth of precious metals in them.
